Sky Atlantic Promo - 8 Days

As part of the Entertainment Design team I was commissioned to create the graphic slates for a bespoke Sky Atlantic show promo.

As part of the exploration and development of the concept we looked at a number of approaches to doing a day countdown that went alongside the creatives edit to take the viewer through an 8 day countdown to the End of the world.

We looked at the Academy Leader as an aesthetic device that not only works as a countdown but is also synonymous with film creating a sense of gravitas for the viewer. also its filmic flicker adds to the pace created through the graphic and edit.

The first images below show the initial direction of the artwork, looking at representing the destruction of the earth through a burning paper aesthetic which is also timed to end at the end of the countdown. The later slides show the direction the idea developed in.
